AbstractThis paper will describe the background, challenges and outcomes of implementing the Water Security Knowledge Exchange Programme (WSKEP). The 3 year programme was set up by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) in April 2011 and it will come to an end in March 2014. The programme has carried out a number of activities including holding seminars, conferences, and workshops, preparing literature review and reports and developing a series of web tools. This paper reports on all these activities and the actions being taken in order for the web tools to continue into the future.
