About Advances in Smart Systems Research

The Advances in Smart Systems Research (ASSR) series provides a means of publication for those that wish to disseminate new results of ongoing research projects in the area of applied intelligent systems. The series is intended for early- to mid-career stage researchers with new findings to communicate, although it may also be a convenient route for more experienced researchers wishing to disseminate recent results.

Papers published in the series will usually have been presented orally or in poster form at a work-in-progress workshop at one of the KES (Knowledge Based and Intelligent Engineering Systems) conferences – see the KES website for more details of these events (www.kesinternational.org).  Alternatively papers may have been submitted to the conference too late to be included in the formal proceedings, and therefore may be included in ASSR instead.

One volume of ASSR is published each year, consisting of the papers from all KES workshops in that year.  Papers will have undergone a review process appropriate to the level and type of publication.
