Journal Scope, Topics and Associate Editors
The Journal accepts articles on a wide range of renewable energy and energy efficiency topics, but especially welcomes submissions on new and innovative energy sustainability areas.
The Journal topics are covered by a number of Associate Editors, each of whom is an expert in a different area. The Associate Editors and their areas are described below.
If you wish to submit a paper to the Journal but it is in an area not apparently covered by one of our Associate Editors please contact us.
Sustainable Buildings: Science and Technology
Associate Editor: John Littlewood, Cardiff Metropolitan University
This topic is about the application and use of science and technology for the assessment and monitoring of the environmental performance of sustainable buildings, their systems and controls. In particular, papers are invited that document theoretical, applied research and case studies from the design, construction, refurbishment or retrofitting, commissioning and operation of sustainable buildings.
Topics include: modelling, physical monitoring methods and enhancements, thermography, air tightness testing, handover and walk through analysis, occupant, design team and building owner interviews, comparison of methodologies, comparison of design with construction and operation, education and training, interrogation of design details for buildings, controls and systems, validation of building design and modelling with performance in use - through physical assessment and / or interviews.
